Do you accept wedding bookings all year-round?

 

At Lake Ashby Farms, we pride our service and were founded on the business model to always devote 100% to each bride and groom – to make each wedding unique, personalized, and exquisitely momentous from beginning to end.  No wedding is taken lightly, or viewed as “just another wedding,” and in order to maintain that level of personalization and dedication, we accept a limited number of bookings per year.  Currently, we are accepting bookings in April, May, September, October, and November – very popular months to marry in Florida.

What is the maximum number of guests you can accommodate? 

 

In order to devote the attention-to-detail and dedication in preparation and styling to each wedding, we can accommodate weddings of up to 180 guests.   For more intimate weddings of less than 80 guests, there is a price reduction reflected in each package.

How much time is allotted when renting the venue?

 

When you book your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception at Lake Ashby Farms, the entire day is yours.  We begin preparing several days before your event, and are flexible as to when your vendors would like to begin set-up.  Each package includes up to two (2) hours of rehearsal time, which may be scheduled a day or two before the wedding.  All appointments, delivery times, visits, and/or rehearsal will be discussed and agreed upon based on availability.

Will we need to rent a tent for our reception?

 

The barn used for  receptions is spacious, large enough to accommodate a DJ or small band, full service bar, dance floor, coffee station, cake and/or dessert station, and includes enough room for guests to mingle and admire the décor in the barn.  A seating area for your guests including tables and chairs during the reception are outdoors in an open grassy area directly adjacent to the barn, allowing guests to take in the view of the grassy fields, farm animals, and Florida country scenery.

If you would like to ensure a covered reception seating area for peace of mind, we recommend you rent a tent.  Please ask about our preferred vendors we have worked with in the past.

Do you have bridal/groom dressing rooms?

 

We offer an area upstairs in our home for the bride and bridesmaids to get dressed.   Gentlemen will need to arrive ready for the wedding, as we do not offer a room for the men.  If this is not an option, we do have a small guest bathroom in our home that may be used one at a time for changing.

Are proper restrooms available for guests?

 

Our level of professionalism does not overlook this area of your wedding, and are pleased to provide your guests a clean full service restroom.  Due to the walking distance between the barn and our home, we provide a clean, full service portable restroom equipped with flushable toilet, sink, and mirror for you and your guests, located adjacent to the barn for easy access.

Does Lake Ashby Farms ever book two events on the same day?

 

Never – it would be impossible to dedicate the time and energy necessary for your wedding.  In fact, we have never booked more than 1 event per week to ensure we are 100% available for your event styling and venue preparation.

If we only want to use the venue for a reception, or skip cocktail hour, is it cheaper?

 

If you would like to hold your ceremony off-grounds, we can prepare the barn area only for your reception.  Please contact us to discuss this option.  As far as skipping cocktail hour, we highly recommend against doing so, since the area allotted for cocktail hour is so magnificently beautiful, it is only used during cocktail hour, and it gives guests a time to reflect upon your ceremony, before entering your breathtaking barn reception.  Cocktail hour is also a highly coveted time for the bride and groom and/or bridal party to take care of photographs on the grounds, while guests enjoy themselves on the deck, boardwalk and lakeside dock.

Do you allow outside vendors?

 

We do, but we require that all vendors are licensed, insured, and have experience with weddings.  We have worked with a select number of affordable and highly professional vendors, and can provide suggestions upon request.

Do you provide on-site catering?

 

No. You will need to book an approved outside vendor for your catering needs.  Our brides have done a variety of different styles from buffets, to family-style seating dinners, to full-service catering, we are flexible with what you choose to arrange with your caterer.  Depending on the style you are interested in, we can make caterer suggestions that have demonstrated their professionalism and service at previous Lake Ashby Farms events.

We do require that the caterer of your choice provide servers to assist with serving/filling water, ice and/or tea in glasses, and clearing tables.  If your caterer does not provide this service, Lake Ashby Farms will be responsible for this service and an additional fee of $300 will be assessed.

Do you book, or offer discounted rates for non-Saturday weddings?

 

Although we prefer to book weddings and events on Saturdays, we will consider a Friday evening or Sunday afternoon wedding if desired.  However, the structure of our pricing is based on the amount of preparation, coordination, styling, and disassembly that goes into each wedding and event, and therefore we do not offer price reductions for non-Saturday weddings.

Do you provide tables, chairs and linens? Silverware, flatware and napkins?

 

Yes.  We provide white padded wedding chairs for the ceremony, as well as gold Chiavari cushioned chairs for the reception.  Tables are provided for the DJ, cake, cocktails, and other main areas, as well as round and rectangle tables for the reception.  We have 2 farm tables with mismatched wooden chairs that are provided as well, typically used for the bridal party.  White floor length linens are included for all of your tables.  Your outside catering vendor will need to provide their own tables and linens, silverware, flatware and napkins, as we do not, unless you choose the Lindsey Package.  For those wishing to upgrade, we can provide elegant glass stemware, wine glasses and/or champagne flutes, complete place settings of mismatched antique china including antique silverware, serving platters, bowls, serving utensils, antique cake stands, vintage candy dishes, and antique table linens and napkins.  It is up to you on how truly “vintage” you would like to go!

Do you provide alcohol? Can we bring our own alcohol?

 

We do not provide alcohol, but we do provide the bar.  Our bar is a large “L” shaped bar, and although alcohol is allowed and may be served to those of legal age, we require that you provide a bartender.  Lake Ashby Farms can provide a bartender for $100, not including gratuity, if you wish to arrange this.

Is there parking available?

 

Absolutely! We provide printed signs to make parking accessible and visible to guests, and a large area for parking.  We also provide a golf cart shuttle service for disabled and elderly guests.
